Abstract

Concrete as a construction material is gaining popularity around the world. Concrete itself consists of a mixture of water, coarse aggregate, cement, and fine aggregate. Sand is used for concrete mixes to fill in between the coarse aggregate grains and bind the cement. In this study, we tried to utilize local quartz sand material originating from Belikanget Village, Bancar Tuban District, East Java as an alternative to fine aggregate in concrete mixtures because in the Tuban area there are many rock materials that can be utilized, one of which is quartz sand in Belikanget village. This research was conducted to determine the compressive strength of concrete using the SNI 7394:2008 material mixing method for fc 16.6 MPa (K 200) concrete quality. According to research, concrete has a compressive strength value of fc 12,56 Mpa (K 152). Thus the compressive strength value of concrete using Belikanget Tuban quartz sand is not included in the planned strength value.
