Abstract

This study investigates the use of Virtual Reality (VR) in the visual design of building interiors, using the Indoor Health and Comfort (IHC) approach. Focusing on the Hibatullah International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) in Bojonegoro Regency, this study aims to design a school interior that prioritizes the well-being of occupants through a healthy and comfortable indoor environment. The mixed-method design combines qualitative and quantitative data collection to evaluate the design outcomes. As an innovative tool, VR allows architects and engineers to effectively communicate design concepts to clients by transforming physical structures into immersive virtual models. Supported by the IHC principles for spatial planning, this integration can significantly improve the school environment, positively impacting students and educators. The findings offer future references for school design projects, emphasizing how digitalization and computer-aided technology can drive advanced innovation in architectural practice.
