Abstract

Abstract
This study examines the parking characteristics of students at Sekolah Tinggi Teknologi Ronggolawe (STTR), Indonesia, to evaluate parking
facility management challenges amid the institution’s planned transition to a university. The research aims to identify daily parking patterns, capacity,
and future space requirements through field surveys, direct observation, and analysis of primary data (vehicle entry/exit counts, parking duration)
and secondary data (campus maps, parking area dimensions). Key findings reveal peak motorcycle accumulation (5,403 vehicles on Wednesdays), a
maximum daily parking volume of 12,579 vehicles, and frequent capacity overflow during rush hours (07:00 – 09:00 AM). The average parking
duration was 2 – 4 hours, with high turnover rates (PTO) for two-wheeled vehicles. The study recommends parking layout optimization, multi-level
parking infrastructure, and controlled paid parking systems to enhance efficiency. These findings offer practical insights for sustainable campus
transportation policies.
