Pengaruh Penggunaan Resin Epoxy Terhadap Kuat Tekan Beton Normal
Abstract
Concrete is a major material widely used in various types of construction, such as buildings, bridges, dams, and other structures. Concrete is essentially a mixture of coarse and fine aggregates mixed with water and cement as a binder and filler between the aggregates, with or without other admixtures, in certain proportions. This study aims to determine the effect of adding epoxy resin on the normal compressive strength of concrete. The results show that the addition of epoxy resin has a significant effect on the compressive strength of concrete. At 0% and 3% variations, the concrete still meets the design quality f'c 25 MPa, with an average compressive strength of 27.33 MPa and 26.04 MPa. Conversely, at 6% and 9% variations, the compressive strength decreases to 23.47 MPa and 21.38 MPa, respectively, which are less than the design quality. This decrease occurs because the higher the resin content, the less workable the concrete is due to the reduced water available for the cement hydration process. This results in a less optimal cement bonding reaction, thus reducing the strength of concrete.
