Abstract

Wind turbines are windmills that are currently widely used to generate electricity. The working principle of a wind turbine is to convert wind kinetic energy into mechanical energy at the blades, so that it can move the generator shaft which will produce electricity. Wind turbines are a type of construction that is widely used in various countries as a producer of electric power. Wind turbines generate electricity by capturing the kinetic energy contained in the wind, where this kinetic energy then causes the propellers to rotate and rotate the generator. The purpose of this method is experimental research by varying the angle of the guide blade with an angle of 50⁰, 60⁰, 70⁰, with a wind speed of 5 m / s. While the dependent variable is wind power, generator power, shaft power, tip speed ratio, torque, coefficient of power. The calculation results show that the wind power generated by the wind turbine is 7.78 watts. Where is the best generator power at the guide blade angle of 50 ⁰, and a wind speed of 5 m / s can produce a generator power of 3.86 Watts. The best torque at the guide blade angle of 70⁰ can produce a torque of 0.0155 N / m. The highest Rotor power at the 50 guide blade angle variation of 0.064 watts. Tip Speed Ratio this time is the best at variations of the guide angle of 60⁰ can produce a tip speed ratio of 0.666. The highest coefficient of power at the variation of the guide blade angle of 50 ⁰ can produce a coefficient of power of 0.82%.
