Pengaruh Campuran Bahan Bakar Pertalite dan Metanol Terhadap Emisi Gas Buang Dan Performa Mesin Sepeda Motor Empat Langkah
Abstract
Motor vehicles have long been a source of air pollution in many major cities of the world. Toxic gases from millions of exhausts every day cause serious problems in many countries. This is a concern about methods that can be used to reduce levels of motor vehicle exhaust emissions. Mixing methanol fuel with pertalite is one way that can be used and is proven to be good for reducing exhaust emissions in 4 stroke motors. The purpose of this study was to determine exhaust emissions, vehicle acceleration, and fuel consumption of a 4 stroke motorcycle engine using a mixture of pertalite and methanol fuel. To test exhaust emissions using a gas analyzer, the test was carried out at 3000, 4000, and 5000 rpm. For fuel consumption testing, the test was carried out by looking at the reduction in fuel in the burette for 1 minute carried out at 2000, 3000, and 4000 rpm. For acceleration testing This is done by measuring the time reached from 1000 rpm to 8000 rpm. The test data shows that the higher the added methanol content, the lower the CO and HC levels, fuel consumption will be more efficient and vehicle acceleration will improve.
