Uji Eksperimen Komposit Serat Sabut Kelapa Terhadap Daya Serap Bunyi untuk Dinding Peredam Suara yang Divariasikan
Abstract
The use and utilization of composite materials is now increasingly developing. Along with the increasing use of these materials, starting from simple ones, such as household tools to the industrial sector, both small and large industries. This is because composites have their own advantages compared to other alternative engineering materials. From various research that has been carried out, this research is to determine the acoustic sound absorption coefficient by adding coconut fiber composition and different number of layers to obtain a more optimal sound absorption coefficient value. This research varied the number of layers, including no layers, 2 layers, 4 layers and 6 layers of coconut fiber. Testing was carried out using a test tool, namely the BS06 Sound Level Measuring device, a dynotest tool. Tests with samples of 6 layers of coconut fiber produced the lowest average value of sound absorption. The average value of sound absorption produced was 68.8 dBA or a difference of 19.7% compared to the test without layers. Increasing the number of layers will reduce the absorption coefficient. From the test and calculation results, it is known that the lowest absorption coefficient was produced in a sample of 6 layers of coconut fiber, namely 0.07. From the test results it was concluded that the number of layers influenced the absorption coefficient value. Where the ability of the material to dampen sound decreases as the thickness of the dampening material (layer) increases.
