PENGARUH KUAT ARUS LAS SMAW TERHADAP KEKUATAN TARIK DAN STRUKTUR MAKRO BAHAN ST 37
Abstract
Proper selection of weld current parameters affects the strength and mechanical properties of the metal in the welding process. SMAW welding is a technique that is often used. This study aims to determine the effect of variations in current strength of 70, 85, and 100A on the tensile strength and macro structure of ST 37 steel when using E6013 electrodes with the SMAW welding method. Based on the tensile testing results, the 85A current strength is more dominant in having the highest stress strength than other current strengths, the maximum stress obtained is 448.16 N/mm2, the maximum strain is 9,3%, and the elastic modulus is 4924,8 Mpa. It can be seen in the observation of macro structure testing, where the 85A current strength has no weld defects and has good penetration.
