Peningkatan Kinerja Demine water System pada Regenerasi Cation Menggunakan Metode Mixing tank
Proses Regenerasi Air Demin
Abstract
Demineralized water (demine water) plays an essential role in maintaining product quality and industrial process efficiency. However, the resin regeneration process in demine water systems often experiences reduced effectiveness due to the less optimal chemical mixing method performed inside the pipeline. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the existing regeneration method and examine the impact of implementing a regeneration method using a mixing tank on improving the quality and quantity of demineralized water. The research employs an experimental method by comparing two regeneration systems: the existing system and the mixing tank system. Tests were conducted by measuring water quality parameters such as conductivity, pH, and silica (SiO₂) levels before and after applying the mixing tank method. The results indicate that the regeneration method using a mixing tank improves the homogeneity of the regenerant solution and enhances ion exchange effectiveness in both cation and anion resins. This method produces more stable water quality with lower conductivity values, pH within the standard range, and silica levels below the allowable limit. Moreover, the mixing tank method increases process efficiency, reduces regeneration frequency, and decreases chemical usage. Therefore, the regeneration method using a mixing tank proves to be more effective than the chemical mixing method inside the pipeline in terms of both water quality and quantity, while also supporting operational efficiency in industrial water treatment systems.
